Firewall data — stays on device

Connection logs, blocked app list, and firewall rules are stored locally and never transmitted to DGZ Games or any DGZ server.

IP geolocation — sent to ipinfo.io

When you view Connection Details for a blocked connection, the destination IP address is sent to ipinfo.io to look up its approximate geographic location. No personal information accompanies this request.

Advertising — handled by Google AdMob

Banner ads are served by Google AdMob, which may collect device identifiers and usage signals. This is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

No accounts, no registration

DGZFirewall requires no account, email address, or sign-in of any kind.

1 Who We Are

DGZ Games ("we," "us," "our") is the developer and publisher of DGZFirewall. We can be reached at support@dgzgames.com.

2 Information We Do Not Collect

DGZ Games does not collect, receive, or store:

Your name, email address, or any other identity information
Your network traffic content, packet payloads, or browsed URLs
Your firewall rules, blocked app list, or allow list
Your connection logs or event history
Your device location
Crash reports or analytics (no analytics SDK is embedded)

                All firewall processing and log storage happens entirely on your device. DGZ Games operates no server that receives firewall data from the Application.
            

3 Information Processed Locally on Your Device

To provide firewall functionality, DGZFirewall processes the following data locally:

Installed application list — to display apps for you to block or allow. This list does not leave your device.
Network packet headers — source/destination IP addresses, ports, and protocol (TCP/UDP). Packet payloads (the actual content of your network traffic) are never read or stored. Metadata is stored only in your device's local connection log.
VPN tunnel state — the Application uses Android's VPN Service API to create a local virtual network interface. This interface runs entirely on your device; your traffic is not routed through any DGZ Games infrastructure.
User preferences — firewall on/off state, per-app block rules, and settings. Stored in Android SharedPreferences on-device only.

4 IP Geolocation — ipinfo.io

When you open the Connection Details screen for a blocked connection, DGZFirewall optionally looks up the destination IP address to show you its approximate geographic location on a map.

To do this, the destination IP address (not your own IP address) is sent as a network request to the third-party service ipinfo.io. No other data (no device identifiers, no personal information, no account information) is included in this request.

                IP geolocation lookups only occur when you actively navigate to the Connection Details screen. They are not performed automatically or in the background.
            

5 Advertising — Google AdMob

DGZFirewall is free and is financially supported by banner advertisements served by Google AdMob. The AdMob SDK is embedded in the Application and may collect:

Google Advertising ID (GAID) and device identifiers
IP address (for ad targeting and fraud prevention)
App usage signals and interaction data with ad units
General device information (OS version, screen size, etc.)

Advertising data collection is governed by Google's Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy

You can opt out of personalized ads at any time through your device's settings:

Android: Settings → Google → Ads → Delete advertising ID or toggle "Opt out of Ads Personalization"

                Ad serving is completely isolated from the firewall layer. AdMob cannot access, influence, or see your firewall rules or connection logs.
            

6 Permissions We Request

DGZFirewall requests the following Android permissions:

INTERNET

Required for loading banner ads from AdMob and for IP geolocation lookups via ipinfo.io when you view Connection Details.

BIND_VPN_SERVICE

Enables the Application to create a local VPN interface on your device for network packet inspection and filtering. Granted via Android's standard VPN consent dialog.

POST_NOTIFICATIONS

Allows the Application to display an ongoing foreground service notification while the firewall is active, and to send firewall event alerts.

RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED

Allows the firewall to automatically restart after a device reboot if you had it enabled when the device was last shut down.

QUERY_ALL_PACKAGES

Required on Android 11+ to enumerate installed applications so you can choose which apps to block or allow in the App Rules screen.

7 Data Retention

All data generated by DGZFirewall (connection logs, firewall rules, settings) is stored locally on your device using Android's standard storage APIs. This data is:

Retained until you clear the Application's data from Android's App Settings, or uninstall the Application
Not backed up to any DGZ Games server
Subject to Android's own backup/restore behavior if you have enabled Google account backup on your device

8 Children's Privacy

DGZFirewall is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.

9 Security

Because DGZFirewall does not transmit firewall data to external servers, your firewall configuration and connection logs are protected by your device's own security mechanisms (screen lock, encryption, etc.). We encourage you to keep your device secured with a PIN, password, or biometric lock.

10 Your Rights

Since DGZ Games does not collect or store personal information from you, there is no personal data held by us to access, correct, export, or delete. If you wish to remove data stored locally by the Application, you can do so at any time by:

Clearing the Application's storage in Android Settings → Apps → DGZFirewall → Storage → Clear Data
Uninstalling the Application

For any questions or concerns about your data related to Google AdMob, refer to Google's Privacy Controls at myaccount.google.com.

11 Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the Application, legal requirements, or our practices. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.

Material changes that involve new data collection or sharing practices will be communicated through an in-app notice prior to taking effect.
